Established in 1922, Gosford Quarries is the name synonymous with sandstone in Australia. We are recognised for our expertise in all areas of quarrying, processing and site installation of natural sandstone.

Our first quarry and processing plant was located at Gosford on the Central Coast of New South Wales. The company was called ‘'The Hawkesbury Sandstone Co.’' and the popular sandstone of the day was ‘'Gosford Grey’'. This quarry possessed a vast deposit of uniformly grey coloured sandstone and was situated on a prominent hill almost in the CBD (which has subsequently grown into a city). The company grew into prominence from the 1930’'s through World War 2 under the direction of the well known local identity Mr Henry Parry.

In 1975, the company was re-organised into the present ‘'Gosford Quarries’' group of companies. The processing plant was upgraded and moved closer to the new quarries at Somersby to allow for future expansion. Since then many deposits have been proven and added to the portfolio of Gosford Quarries sandstone.

During the last 20 years major cladding and restoration projects contributed to the company's success with projects including: The GPO Sydney; ‘'Gothic Bank’' Collins St Melbourne; Governor Phillip Tower, Sydney and The Museum of Sydney; winning international architectural awards for excellence.

Gosford Quarries is the major sandstone supplier to the Australasian market for a wide range of domestic applications including; house cladding, retaining walls, paving, pool surrounds and general landscape work. These markets are serviced from retail and storage outlets in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The company owns and operates seven quarries throughout Australia with an annual output exceeding 8,000 m3 per year with reserves in excess of 200,000 m3.

Currently, we are exporting into USA, China, Middle East, Taiwan, South East Asia, Germany, U.K, Japan and the South Pacific, these exports represent a growing percentage of our turnover.

It is out aim to increase this percentage by commitment to services to our customers world-wide.
